Wines & Poetry

Neruda, Wine & Nature

114 kilometres away from Santiago, you can find the main house/museum of the poet Pablo Neruda; the writer lived his last years here and, this is were he also asked to be buried with his last wife, Matilde. Isla Negra stands out for being a peaceful town surrounded by beaches with beautiful views, where it seems that time has stopped.

On the way to this place you can find Casablanca Valley, one of the 10 worldwide wine capitals and the most important Chilean valley for the production of cold wine. In this valley lies Bodegas Re winery, known by its old and time-revered methods of wine production. We will also learn about the production of liquors and balsamics. The tour includes wine tasting.

Then, we will visit the house of Pablo Neruda before having lunch in a local restaurant. This journey will end in “Humedal de Mirasol”, a beautiful 10 minutes hike full of nature, that ends in a really quiet and deserted beach.
