Neruda, Isla Negra and its surroundings

Culture and history of the Poet`s coast

114 kilometers away from Santiago is the main house and current-day museum of the poet Pablo Neruda. He lived Here the last years of his life where he asked to be buried next to his last wife Matilde. Isla Negra still stands out as a quiet town surrounded by beaches with beautiful views, where it seems time has stopped.

Isla Negra is part of the coastline called “Poets”, where the main port of Chile, San Antonio, stands. This tour will visit this port. Then, we will observe birdlife in the pre-historic Laguna El Peral. We will have lunch at Isla Negra and visit the Neruda museum. Then we will go to Cantalao, a real estate project promoted by Neruda and which is currently an ecological park.
