Pucon is located in Chile´s 9th region, called the Region of Araucania and is the land of the native Mapuches, Araucaria trees, Volcanoes and many lakes. It is a very privileged place when it comes to natural resources, making it perfect for eco-touring. That’s the reason why every year you can find more and more conservational initiatives established here, all of them aiming towards a future where the preservation of surrounding towns and volcanoes will help it to become a true Garden of Eden on earth. Here you will find the famous Villarica volcano and the lake which shares the same name.

 

 Puerto Varas is a city founded by German immigrants; here you will find a unique and beautiful view looking towards the Osorno volcano and LLanquihue lake. This is the entrance to Patagonia, so it is also known as Northern Patagonia. During the winter and the rainy spring, visitors can observe the jungle type vegetation. The gorgeous local fauna as well as a multitude of first class tourism offers make this region one of the prime traveling destinations growing rapidly in Chile.

 

 In these two cities, we have developed a program full of history, culture, nature and adventure. During these activities we will be rafting, doing canopy, trekking in Huerquehue National Park (Villarica volcano ascension option), hot springs, Pucon city tour and surroundings, Chiloes island tour, sailing through Todos los Santos lake (all saints lake), going horse riding in Peulla and more. There will be a tour leader (guide) with you at all time, from your arrival to Pucon until you leav Puerto Varas.

Day 1

We meet early in the morning at Temuco´s airport or at Pucon´s Bus Terminal, depending on the case.

Then we will check in at the selected hotel (there are many options to pick from). Guide Welcome.

After that, we will enjoy lunch at a typical Pucon´s restaurant which offers a great variety of meat and fish to enjoy.

We can also pick an excellent vegetarian restaurant if you prefer.

Later in the afternoon, we are heading for our first adventure: Rafting (details below)

After rafting, we will return to where we are staying to leave some things and change our clothes so that we can walk through Pucon and enjoy a beautiful city tour, to visit local attractions and nice restaurants. After that, we will return to the hostel at 22:00 hrs in order to have some rest.

Day 2 (Villarrica volcano and hot springs option)

We start our day with a nice breakfast, and later we will go 38 kilometers into the Andes mountain chain towards Huerquehue National Park.

Here we will go on a 5 hour trek.  On our way back to Pucon, we will make a stop at the soothing “Termas Los Posones”, an incredible and natural hot springs site.  We will return to Pucon for dinner and later to the hostel.  At night, you will have free time to enjoy Pucon´s exciting nightlife (Pubs, Casino, etc… ).

For those who wish to ascend to Villarica´s volcano top, there is a possibility to switch activities this day for volcano ascension plus hot springs for an additional fee.

Day 3

After our 10 am. breakfast, we will be heading for our next adventure:  Canopy in the ancient Native Forest. We will be back to Pucon for lunch and later on take a tour of the zone, visiting Lake Caburgua and “Los ojos del Caburgua” (Caburgua´s Eyes). We will dine in Pucon and then rest.

Day 4

After breakfast we will leave towards Valdivia, Cultural Chilean city where we will see the famous river Calle-calle and we will have lunch on a ship in this river. We will visit Valdivia´s Main Square and the river side. In the afternoon, we will arrive to Puerto Varas where two Volcanoes, Osorno and Calbuco, are awaiting for us. We will then check-in at a hotel or other accommodation.

We will visit the Main Square, Artisans fairs, and we will have diner with a view of the LLanquihue lake. After this, we will rest.

Day 5

Breakfast will be served around 7 am. because we are leaving early to visit a village called Peulla, located next to the lake Todos los Santos. On the route to Peulla, we will do a stop in Petrohue waterfalls where we will walk over emerald waterfalls. Here we will have a great view of Calbuco volcano. After that, we will go towards Todos los Santos lake where we will navigate for around 90 minutes until we get to Peulla, an ecologic town that owes its growth to its location in the mountain crossing toward Bariloche (Argentinian city). In Peulla, we will enjoy an amazing horse riding tour on magnificent horses between Arrayan woods and dreamlike landscapes. We have the option of having lunch in Peulla before returning the same way we came to Puerto Varas, as we sail on the lake and into the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park (the oldest in Chile).

At nightfall, we will have dinner in Puerto Varas and rest.

Day 6

We will have an early breakfast because we will visit the magical Chiloe Island, a place known for its old churches, local myths and excellent gastronomy. We will cross on a ship across the Chacao canal, visiting the towns of Chacao, Dalcahue and Castro. We will get the chance to visit the Crafts Market, the Museum, local Churches, Seaside road Llao-Llao and the Palafitos over Gamboas river. Returning the same way to Puerto Varas, we will then get ready at the hotel for having dinner and rest.

Day 7

Transfer to Puerto Montt´s airport or to Puerto Varas Bus Terminal, depending on the case.
