Ecological Hike
Hiking and learning at Rio Clarillo National Reserve, Maipo Valley.
Río Clarillo is located at the foot of the Andes Range, Southeast of Santiago, in Pirque. Here you will see beautiful foothill landscapes, mountains with vegetation composed by trees and sclerophyllous bushes (hard leaf), abundant in the ravines. There is also an environmental information center where visitors can learn more about the reserve.
In this place, and next to Clarillo River (named after its crystalline water), we will take two guided trails, where we will learn about the ecology of the central area as well as other Chilean species.
Guided Trail Quebrada Jorquera: This trail is 1.2 kilometers long. The hiking time is from 40 to 60 minutes. It is suitable for all ages.
Arboretum Trail: 1 kilometer long. The hiking time is from 30 to 45 minutes. Sample of the flora that you can find in the central and southern zone of the country.
Here, we will learn about the importance of the diverse species and their unique characteristics while spending time at the riverbank of Clarillo River- there you will receive a surprise from our guide.
At the end the of the tour we are going to have lunch in a restaurant where you can enjoy the typical food of Pirque.
